We’re proud to share that Angela, our Indonesia Coordinator, recently represented the World Parrot Trust at the Wild Animal Rescue Network (WARN) Conference in Laos.
WARN is a network uniting animal rescue centers, wildlife enforcement groups, and officials from across East and Southeast Asia, all working together to address illegal wildlife trade on a regional scale.
Angela presented on WPT’s work in the region, focusing on our commitment to building capacity and supporting rescues facing the intense demands of wildlife trade. During her presentation, she introduced our First Responder Guidelines (available in English and Indonesian) to offer actionable steps for responding to wildlife confiscations, a crucial resource for organizations across Asia struggling with limited resources and growing pressures from illegal trade.
We’re grateful for the chance to engage with WARN and the wider community working to protect Asia’s wildlife, and we look forward to collaborating further to build essential skills and resources in the fight against illegal wildlife trade.
